Winter vacation houses
Winter indeed is the month for your vacation when you can get creative. Imagine traveling from the cold and snowy Baltic countries to the warm and sunny Spain or Greece, or the opposite. Well, that is something that you can do to enhance your winter experience. If you still do not know where to spend your winter vacation, we suggest you travel to Scandinavian countries where you will be able to have a magical winter holiday. In the Alpine regions you will be able to find charming huts and chalets. Although, no matter where you choose to spend your winter holidays, we assure you that when choosing to stay at Nature.house vacation houses, you will feel relaxed and cozy.
If you choose to travel in winter to go on your Christmas holidays, we suggest you book a holiday house in a remote place, where you can focus on your family and loved ones! Since you will need a bigger accommodation, we think that a stay in a wooden chalet, hut, villa or a castle-like home could be the best idea. If you prefer something simpler, then a cabin located deep in the forest or a nice apartment by the waters would be nice. In addition, imagine how nice it would be having a fireplace next to your vacation house. Gathering all around the fireplace, singing, sharing nice memories and opening all the cute presents. Amazing! Book now and make it happen!
Climate
As a result of climate change, the temperature of Europe has increased by 1 °C in the last hundred years. Four regional European climatic types can be loosely distinguished. In the south, Europe has a distinctively Mediterranean climate, which features warm to hot, dry summers and cool to mild winters and frequent sunny skies. Continental climate is in the eastern and central parts of the continent. Warm to hot summers and cold winters are present here. Parts of the central European plains have a hybrid oceanic/continental climate. Most of the Western part of Europe is with Oceanic climate. This region features cool to warm summers and cool winters with frequent overcast skies. The Gulf Stream greatly influences the Western and Northwestern Europe’s climate. It keeps the mild air in the winter months, especially in Ireland, the UK and coastal Norway. The Gulf Stream is nicknamed "Europe's central heating", because it makes Europe's climate warmer and wetter than it would otherwise be.
Four seasons occur in most of Europe. The coastal lowlands of the Mediterranean Basin have more of a wet and dry season pattern. The rainy season extends from October to February, while the dry season is mainly noticeable in the summer months where precipitation can, in some years, become extremely scarce.
The coldest winters are mostly found in Russia, with daily highs in winter averaging 0 °C, while the mildest winters in the continent are in southern Portugal, southern Spain, and in coastal areas of the islands of Sicily and Crete – around 12 °C. On the Atlantic Ocean, the Azores, Madeira and Canary Islands in the European Macaronesia have by far the mildest winters of any place in Europe. The hottest summers of the continent occur in Southern Spain. July average highs in this region are 37 °C. The highest extreme temperatures have been recorded in Athens with a controversial 48 °C.
