Against the beautiful Frisian village of Wirdum stands this former transformer house for more than 100 years. It has been converted with a lot of care and attention into a beautiful hikers' hut. You could also call it a Tiny house, because despite the small space it is equipped with almost all conveniences. It is compact but you don't experience it that way. The large windows and doors allow plenty of light and visibility. The modern light paneling and finishes create a pleasant spacious feeling. The goal was to make the most of the compact space for the most pleasant experience possible. Both inside and outside. And preferably also with uncommon solutions. But with beautiful furniture and accessories. I tried to create a unique atmosphere and interior and it has become a very pleasant space with views to two sides through large windows and doors. Inside and outside flow together!
Nature and surroundings
In the village you will find a café/hotel/restaurant and a small supermarket with bread from the hot bakery. The cottage is located on the Jabikspaad. It is the pilgrimage route from St. James parish to Hasselt. And it can also be the start of a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella. Apart from the Jabikspaad, there are many hiking and cycling routes in the immediate vicinity. To the beautiful villages of Warten, Warga and, for example, Grou. Near Grou is the beautiful national park the Alde Feanen, and Leeuwarden is within cycling distance. And two free bikes are waiting for you in the shed! Off to adventure!!!

Bij binnenkomst meteen overweldigd door het uitzicht. Het huisje is klein maar biedt binnen echt meer dan voldoende ruimte.Ingenieuze oplossingen om de ruimte optimaal te benutten en heel mooi afgewerkt. Inrichting en inventaris ademen gastvijheid uit. Op basis van de foto's lijkt het alsof de wc zich in de woonkamer bevindt, maar niets is minder waar: daar heeft de verhuurder een mooie oplossing voor gevonden. Contact met verhuurder was gastvrij en ontspannen. Ik kom hier zeker nog een keer terug.
Je hebt continu zicht naar buiten waardoor je echt het gevoel hebt midden in de natuur te zitten. Prachtig uitzicht.

Heel bijzonder huisje. Niet groot maar doet heel ruimtelijk aan door de grote ramen en weids uitzicht. Met aandacht vormgeven en ingericht
Veel ruimte en uitzicht om het huisje. Ook natuurgebieden in de nabije omgeving. Wel een snelweg aan de horizon
