Nature house in Les Gabots

The house is in a truly beautiful location on a large, green property along a stunning river. Darja is an enthusiastic and friendly hostess.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The authentic gîte is cozily furnished, has a comfortable bed, and is perfect for two people.
The access road to the gîte isn’t ideal for low-clearance cars, but that wasn’t a problem for us.
We’d love to come back again!

Het huis ligt werkelijk prachtig op een groot groen terrein aan een geweldige rivier. Darja is een enthousiaste en vriendelijke gastvrouw.
Wij hebben genoten van ons verblijf.
De authentieke gîte is gezellig ingericht, heeft een goed bed en is heel geschikt voor 2 personen.
Het toegangsweggetje naar de gîte is minder geschikt voor lage auto's, maar daar hadden wij geen last van.
Wij komen graag nog eens terug!

A real little paradise!
A beautiful, spacious property with lots of trees, shrubs, and plants. It was especially nice to relax here in the warm weather. We saw lots of birds (including birds of prey) and butterflies. The Sioule River, which flows right by the door, is wonderfully clean and has both deep and shallower sections. It’s great for swimming and (fly) fishing. There are tables and (reclining) chairs in various spots, which you can move around as you please to find sun or shade. It’s very pleasant to sit on a chair in or by the river with a drink and a good book.
The Auvergne is beautiful in any case. However, you sometimes have to drive a bit far to reach the sights.

Een echt paradijsje!
Een prachtig ruim terrein met veel bomen, struiken en planten. Zeker met het warme weer was het hier goed toeven. We hebben veel (roof)vogels en vlinders gezien. De Sioule, die voor de deur stroomt, is heerlijk schoon en heeft diepe en ondiepere stukken. Heel fijn om in te zwemmen en om in te (vlieg)vissen. Er staan op verschillende plekken tafels en (luie) stoelen, die je naar believen kunt verplaatsen naar zon of schaduw. Op een stoeltje in of aan de rivier met een drankje en een goed boek is het zeer aangenaam.
De Auvergne is sowieso prachtig. Wel moet je voor bezienswaardigheden soms wat ver rijden.

We had a very nice time in this cottage. What made it extra special was Darja's hospitality: friendly, communicated clearly and gave us good tips about the area. Even surprised us with some fresh vegetables and fruit from the garden, which was a huge luxury. The whole place felt warm, personal and relaxed - really a place where you immediately relax.

We hebben een hele fijne tijd gehad in dit huisje. Wat het extra bijzonder maakte, was de gastvrijheid van Darja: vriendelijk, communiceerde duidelijk en gaf ons goede tips over de omgeving. Zelfs verasst met een paar verse groenten en fruit uit de tuin, wat een enorme luxe was. Het geheel voelde warm, persoonlijk en ontspannen – echt een plek waar je meteen tot rust komt.

It was wonderful to stay in this cottage, especially since it is right on the river. You can hear the lapping water and relax in the hammocks hung along the bank. There are several nice sitting areas on the property, so you always had a different place to sit and enjoy yourself - whether that was with a book, a drawing or just good conversation.

Het was heerlijk om in dit huisje te verblijven, vooral omdat het direct aan de rivier ligt. Je hoort het kabbelende water en kunt heerlijk ontspannen in de hangmatten die langs de oever zijn opgehangen. Er zijn meerdere fijne zitplekken op het terrein, waardoor je steeds weer een ander plekje had om te zitten en te genieten – of dat nou met een boek was, een tekening of gewoon een goed gesprek.
