Weekend in Italy

Italy is probably one of the most prominent tourist destinations not only in Europe, but in the world as a whole. It is located in the south-central part of the continent, and it is very rich in both culture and history. Additionally, if you just love food and architecture, Italy is the place to be. However, if you have avoided the country because you think that there are too many tourists, we are happy to surprise you. Although this might be true for its biggest cities, one can always find some peace and tranquillity outside of them.

Given the fact that around a third of the country is covered with mountains, the people who love conquering mountainous regions are going to be in awe.

Even if you only have a short weekend to spend in the country, the accommodation is undoubtedly very important. This is why we would love you to take a look at our selection of incredible nature houses and other properties for you to rent during your weekend get-away in Italy. Whatever your desires, you are sure to not be disappointed as we have something for every taste.

Dive in Italian nature

A weekend is not a lot of time, so you have to be careful with how you spend it. One of the best ways to do so while in the country is by paying a visit to the Monti Sibillini National Park, which was founded during 1993. As we promised, the mountain lovers would feel as if they are in heaven – the national park is home to an incredible peak bearing the name Monte Vetorre. Another highlight which you should definitely include in your plan is called Castellucio di Norcia. If you are a fan of flowers, prepare to be stunned by the vast fields all covered with an incredible array of colours. The area is so beautiful that it is really hard to put it into words – one just has to come and see it in person. Of course, some careful planning with respect to time is required, as the flowers showcase their mesmerizing colours only during the summer.

If avoiding mass tourism is one of the main aims (and it usually is), one has to choose destinations which are somehow not that popular. Such a location is the Elba island; here you can expect to find some astonishing beaches. Our advice would be to go with a beach called Pareti – albeit small, it offers some amazing nature.

Activities

You are spending an amazing weekend in Italy, so why not do something unique at the end of it? Paragliding offers a great amount of adrenaline, and it also allows you to enjoy nature from above. Italy has some spectacular locations very suitable for paragliding, one of them being Lake Garda. This is not something you do every day, and it will surely be an incredible experience. Of course, if you are not comfortable with heights, you can always opt for the more traditional hiking instead.
