Easter in Belgium also means experiencing Spring in Belgium; the trees will grow back their leaves, flowers will start to bloom, the sun will show itself more often, and the days get longer. Belgium’s nature

Even though there are only two national parks in Belgium, this does not mean that there isn’t anything to see. Besides the parks you can hike through countless of nature reserves to explore the Belgian nature. The landscapes of Belgium can be divided into three parts; first of all, there is Flanders where you can find heath and woodlands. Secondly, the coastal area which is characterized by dunes and polders. Lastly, Wallonia with its famous Ardennes region which mainly consists of forests.

Despite being a smaller country, a great deal of wildlife and plants can be found in Belgium. Around 20% of the country is forested, providing a habitat for a lot of animal species. For example, more than 350 bird species live throughout the country such as ducks, falcons, buzzards, and more. Activities during your stay

From the historic cities in Flanders like Bruges, Antwerp, or Ghent, to the rolling valleys of Wallonia there is always something to do during your holiday. For the people who like an active holiday, we recommend going to the Ardennes. In this area you can go rafting or kayaking on the rivers with different levels of experience. Spring is the best time to do this, so perfect for your easter holiday. As Belgium has a long coastline, there are tons of activities to do there as well; go horseback riding, looking for seashells, or any adventurous water activities. And, of course, there are thousands of popular hiking trails in the country in different kinds of landscapes. Lastly, in the southeast of Belgium, you have the opportunity to visit caves and explore the underground passage of the river Lesse.
