Nature house in Westmeerbeek

We had everything; we lacked nothing.

Alles was aanwezig; het ontbrak ons aan niets.

We really enjoyed our stay at the nature house.

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf in het natuurhuisje.

I’ve rarely come across such a well-equipped house, with clear instructions from A to Z in an information folder. We went for a few walks in the area, but unfortunately it was a short stay, so we mainly enjoyed the garden and the peace and quiet.

Zelden zo'n compleet huis aangetroffen, van A tot Z duidelijke uitleg in een informatiemap. We hebben wat gewandeld in de omgeving, maar was helaas een kort verblijf, dus voornamelijk van de tuin en de rust genoten.

An oasis of peace (there’s no French word for that!) That’s exactly what it is: a beautiful house, truly equipped with every convenience, a wonderful bed, a great bathroom, and a generously equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The garden is fantastic—well-fenced, surrounding the house, with cozy seating areas everywhere, and a beautiful, large pond. Our dog loved it—the only downside was that he didn’t want to go home!

Een oase van rust ( daar is geen woord Frans bij !) Dat is het inderdaad, mooi huis, werkelijk van alle gemakken voorzien, heerlijk bed, prima badkamer, en royaal uitgeruste keuken, met alles wat je maar nodig kunt hebben. De tuin is fantastisch, goed omheind, loopt rondom het huis, met overal gezellige zitjes, en een prachtige grote vijver. Onze hond vond het geweldig, 1 nadeel, wilde niet meer naar huis !
Marc en Petra, heel erg bedankt voor het warme welkom en jullie gastvrijheid, we hebben er van genoten. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Henk en Angrit

The poor condition of the municipal access road is a letdown even before you reach the entrance to the house.
There’s nothing the owner can do about that… but still.

The entire large property turned out to be 100% dachshund-proof for our two little adventurers! It gave us great peace of mind knowing that it was truly secure.


One more note:
Despite the low (ground) water level, we were able to spot the kingfisher—as well as the gray wagtail—in the garden on several occasions.
The house is located right next to a marshy nature/wetland area.

De slechte gemeentelijke toegangsweg doet afbreuk voordat je bij de entree vh huis bent.
Hier kan deceigenaar niets aan doen,... maar toch.

Het hele grote perceel bleek 100% teckelproef voor onzec2 avonturiers! Dat gaf ons veel rust te weten dat het écht dicht was.


Nog een opmerking:
Ondanks de lage (grond) waterstand hebben wij meerdere keren de ijsvogel! als ook de grote gele kwikstaart in de tuin mogen zien.
Het huis ligt pal tegen een zompig natuur/-moerasgebied.

The clear description and phone call with Marc—the owner—upon arrival immediately made a good impression.
When the automatic gates swing open, you’re immediately transported into a green oasis, with a huge pond and a beautifully situated modern wooden house. It was definitely a “wow” moment for us!
Once inside, the house is decorated in a very homey style and equipped with every conceivable amenity. We’ve never seen such a fully stocked kitchen. They’ve thought of absolutely everything: from dinnerware, glassware, and silverware to placemats and every kind of appliance you can imagine. We were pleasantly surprised.
The beds are box-spring and very comfortable; the bathroom is fine.
There are plenty of eco-friendly features, such as solar panels, a heat pump, and a groundwater-fed toilet, etc. Fantastic. From inside, you can look right out, and there are several sliding doors that seamlessly blend the outdoors with the indoors.
All around the house and garden, you’ll find plenty of nooks and patios to relax in. The furniture there is great, too.

De duidelijke beschrijving en tel.contact met Marc -eigenaar- bij aankomst maakten gelijk een goede indruk.
Als de automatische poorten opendraaien kom je meteen in een groene oase terecht, een enorme vijver en prachtig gelegen houten -modern- huis. Absoluut een woowh-moment voor ons!
Eenmaal in het huis is het heel thuiselijk gedecoreerd en van alle denkbare gemakken voorzien. Wij hebben nog nooit zo'n compleet ingerichte keuken gezien. Aan werkelijk álles is gedacht: van serviezen, glaswerk, bestek, placemats, en allerlei denkbare apparatuur. Het overviel ons in positieve zin.
De bedden zijn boxspring en heel comfortabel/santair is oké.
Veel eco-faciliteiten als zonnepanelen/warmtepomp/ grondwater vh toilet etc. Top. Van binnenuit kijk je zó naar buiten en er zijn diverse schuifdeuren waardoor buiten meteen binnen is.
Rondom het huis en tuin vind je overal hoekjes en terrassen om te relaxen. Goed meubilair ook daar.
Bij vragen zijn Marc/Petra goed bereikbaar en reageren vlot.
