A lovely, well-equipped, and clean house in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Everything was there, worked properly, and met our needs. We enjoyed a wonderful walk.

Fijn, compleet en schoon huis in schitterende, rustige omgeving. Alles was aanwezig, werkte en was naar wens. Heerlijk gewandeld.

A great little cottage with lots of practical details. For example, stickers on every kitchen drawer indicating their contents. You’ll also be pleased with the fire safety features. This is the first cottage I’ve rented where the fire extinguisher is properly mounted in a bracket with an inspection date in the future, working smoke detectors, a fire blanket in the kitchen, and a copy of the evacuation plan in every room, etc. Here’s a quick tip: the front door is designated as an emergency exit but CANNOT be opened from the inside if it’s locked. Leave the key in the lock on the inside!

On days when it’s 30 degrees, you’ll be glad to have a large yard, with virtually no view into the property and plenty of shaded spots. That way, my wife can sunbathe topless without worrying about ending up on social media. But be aware: there is a security camera mounted above the charging station for electric cars. The purpose, scope, who has access to the footage, and the retention period are unclear.

Prima huisje met veel praktische details. BV stikkers op elke keukenlade welke de inhoud aangaf. Ook wat brandveiligheid betreft kan je blij worden. Dit is het eerste huisje welke ik gehuurd hebt waarvan de brandblusser correct in een beugel is opgehangen met een keuringsdatum in de toekomst, werkende brandmelders, branddeken in de keuken, kopie van het evacuatieplan is elke ruimte enz. Met een kleine tip: de voordeur is als vluchtdeur aangemerkt maar kan van binnenuit NIET geopend worden als deze op slot zit. Laat de sleutel aan de binnenkant er in zitten!

Met 30 graden dagen ben je blij met een grote tuin, zo goed als geen inkijk en schaduwplekken. Dan kan mijn vrouw topless zonnen zonder dat ze bang hoeft te zijn om op sociale media terecht te komen. Maar let op er hangt wel een beveiligingscamera boven het laadpunt voor elektrische autos. Het doel, de reikwijdte, wie inzage heeft en de bewaartermijn is onduidelijk.

There are beautiful, challenging hiking and biking trails, but avoid the main roads. Drivers speed past you at a minimum of 80 km/h, just a few centimeters away from your side, without slowing down. Dutch cyclists, in particular, who cycle recklessly because they’re used to the idea that those clueless drivers are always at fault and will pay, will discover (hopefully not the hard way) that traffic rules are different in Wallonia.

Er zijn mooie, uitdagende wandel en fietsroutes maar vermijd de doorgaande wegen. Ze rijden zonder af te remmen met minimaal 80Km/h op enkele centimeters zijdelingse afstand voorbij. Vooral Nederlanders die roekeloos fietsen omdat ze gewend zijn dat die suffe automoblist altijd schuldig is en betaald, komen er (hopelijk niet op een harde manier) achter dat in Walonie andere verkeersnormen zijn.
