Together we contribute to local nature projects

More information

The northernmost province of the Netherlands, Groningen, has long been a relatively unknown tourist destination, but nowadays more and more holidaymakers know where to find the city of Groningen, the Westerkwartier or the Lauwersmeer National Park. They don't know mass tourism in the natural areas of Groningen yet, so if you're looking for peace and quiet during your stay in a Groningen holiday home, then you've come to the right place!

Flora and fauna
Groningen is a beautiful location for the true nature lover. The province has a varied nature, with many lakes alternating with vast polders. This makes Groningen one of the oldest European cultural landscapes, bordering on the Wadden Sea. The Wadden Sea offers many faces and therefore also a variety of flora and fauna. More than 10,000 different plants and animals live in this area in the water and on land! It's hard to get bored here, partly because of the raw landscape, seals, goose colonies and other bird species that spend the winter here every year.

Activities
Every year, several mudflat walks are organised from Groningen to the uninhabited Wadden Islands, which belong to the province: Rottumeroog, Rottumerplaat and Zuiderduintjes. The city of Groningen offers a wealth of possible activities, which are also fun to undertake with the kids. Climb the Martinitoren, celebrate the Gronings Ontzet or visit the Hortus Botanicus in Haren. For 'just' cycling, walking and sailing you can also enjoy a holiday home in the province of groningen Groningen, just like in many other Dutch provinces.
