Nature and surroundings
Gentle hills and flat valleys created by glacial meltwater invite you to go cycling. The Hunte river valley is one of the most beautiful in the whole of northern Germany. The Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park with its gently undulating landscape is particularly suitable for cycling. A network of over 1000 km of well-signposted cycle paths invites you to explore. Visitors can expect a charming and varied landscape: tree-lined banks, romantic river bends, moors, primeval forests and marshy meadows. Some of the former moorland areas have been rewetted and provide a new habitat for rare plant and animal species.
