This nature house is in an ideal quiet location in the east of the province of Alentejo against the "Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede" nature reserve. It stands in the yard of a farm with pedigree Limousins. Its area is almost 100 hectares. The 'monte' (the main building), like the cottage and farm buildings, is located on a hill and offers a beautiful view of the rolling plains of the Alto Alentejo and the hills of the São Mamede. The cottage is fully equipped for four people. There is a living kitchen with wood stove and adjacent is a sitting area with television. There are two bedrooms, one with two single beds, the other with a double bed. There is a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet. There is a private terrace.For the winter there are electric blankets on the beds and electric heaters in the bedrooms.A camp bed is available for small children. Guests can use the swimming pool, which is shared with the landlords. In addition, there is a private reservoir, where one can swim and fish.

The region is reminiscent of Africa. It is hilly with cork and holm oaks. There is much to see in the area, such as the famous white fortified towns of Portalegre, Marvão, Castelo de Vide, Elvas and Estremoz. You can take day trips to Evora and the Extremadura in Spain. Nature lovers can enjoy the many bird species and the floral beauty in spring. The village has a tennis court and several restaurants serving local specialties. The climate has many extremes. The best periods are spring and autumn. In the dry summers, temperatures often rise to tropical values. Winters are mild. During this time the rain falls, but on sunny days one can sit outside even in December. The distance from the Netherlands is about 2200 kilometers and can be covered by car in two days. For those who prefer to fly, a fly-drive package is recommended. From Lisbon it is over two hours drive on a new highway. Faro is 3.5 hours and Madrid is four hours.
