This nature house is located in the protected natural area of Alta Garrotxa. From the nature house you can hike directly, including along the GR 1: a forested, mountainous area. Meanwhile, you can enjoy panoramic views. The property is off-grid: rainwater, solar power and wood stoves. No shower, but wash-sauna. Also no tap, but wells. Separate is the composting toilet for common use. You share this with the landlords. The nature house is basic with an edge of luxury for those who want to totally reset from the hectic life. The hosts will pick you up by 4x4 (at the bus stop or at an agreed place where your car can be parked for €3 per day), otherwise you won't get there. Hot meals, WiFi, washing machine and pets by arrangement. And you guessed it, no smoking and vegetarian. So it is not allowed to prepare meat and fish in the nature house. The area is in foothills of the Pyrenees with hills and mountains from 400 to 1200 meters and 60 kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. It consists of forests, meadows, rock formations, gorges, rivers and farmhouses (fincas) abandoned in the 1960s. It is a quiet but highly desirable hiking area, both for the inexperienced and the experienced hiker to steep wall climbs. A half-hour walk away is a natural swimming spot under a romantic arch bridge from the 14th century.
