Views to the front and back of the woods and Frisian meadows. The three bedrooms have excellent box-spring beds. The bathrooms (with walk-in shower or rain shower) are generous. Friesland, the land of natural rhythm ... The nature house is adjacent to the heathland of Duurswoude, a large moorland with small fens created during the ice age. The area measures about 150 hectares. Part of a nearly 1000 hectare contiguous forest and nature reserve of Staatsbosbeheer around Bakkeveen and Wijnjewoude. This in turn is part of the Koningsdiep stream valley. From the house you walk or cycle straight into nature. Hiking trails, cycling routes, mountain bike routes and equestrian routes next door. Surrounding nature reserves: Drents-Friese Wold, National Park De Alde Feanen (water, sailing, skutsje silen). Furthermore, you can visit nice Frisian villages such as Makkum, Beetsterzwaag, Harlingen and Franeker. Wijnjewoude is an excellent base to visit Leeuwarden (Cultural Capital 2018). You can obtain a free OV day pass (in 2018) from the hosts.
