Our fine forest cottage is located in the middle of the forest, with lots of peace and privacy, in the Drents-Friese Wold: one of the most beautiful National Parks in the Netherlands, where you will really find peace in the middle of nature. You will hear birds, see squirrels and with a little luck deer in the lovely spacious garden: 1000m2 with lots of privacy. The garden is completely fenced, ideal for dogs.There is a living/dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms (1 double and 2 single). There is also a large conservatory that serves as a second living room. You will find a well-stocked bookcase! The cottage has all the basic amenities: coffee maker, Senseo, kettle, blender, refrigerator, microwave, contact grill, WI-FI and TV. There is a basic inventory with various spices, oil, vinegar, coffee filters, tea, tea lights, toilet paper, soap and cleaning products. The garden is furnished with garden furniture and a canopy. In the shed are a good ladies' and men's bicycle for use.

Where in the Netherlands can you still see stars and planets, where can you still see the Milky Way? You can in the Drents-Friese Wold. It is one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands with 6000 hectares of forest, heathland, shifting sands and stream valley grasslands. This nature reserve is among the most beautiful and important nature reserves in Europe and it is therefore rightly designated as a Natura 2000 area. The hamlet Oude Willem is located between the Frisian Appelscha (10 min) and the Drenthe Diever (5 min). You step from the forest cottage into the forest, where you can make beautiful walks, mountain biking, horseback riding and bird watching, where there is a beautiful bicycle network. If there is snow, you can even cross-country ski here. Nearby there are also cozy restaurants and cafes. And are you looking to cool off? Then go swimming in Lake Blue or Lake Canada, where winter swimmers are also active. Go on an adventure on one of the adventure trails. Furthermore, you are 5 minutes from the well-known Shakespeare Outdoor Theater.
