Sleeps up to 4 people. This nature house was originally a cider press & apple store. It has been sympathetically renovated, keeping much of the original building and reusing the original beams and wood wherever possible, creating a light and comfortable atmosphere. The living accommodation is open plan with kitchen diner and comfortable lounge area with wood burning stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, integrated dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom can be arranged as either two singles or linked together to form a king-sized double. Wood flooring throughout. There are mature gardens, a vegetable garden, and an orchard for you to enjoy but also a decking area just outside the front door, with large parasol and dining set for four. BBQ and sun loungers are available and a secure building for equipment and bikes. Highchair and cot are available on request.
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is situated about 10km the historic town of Vire, in the heart of Normandy’s green Bocage countryside. It is a calm, peaceful place, where the main sounds are birds, bees and our three ponies. The gardens, vegetable plot and orchard offer herbs, fruit and vegetables, with apple and pear blossom in spring and fruit in autumn. The area is well suited to walking, painting and birdwatching, and is particularly popular with adults seeking a relaxing rural break. Nearby, you will find excellent restaurants and markets full of fresh local produce, including cider, Calvados, cheese, butter and cream. Mont-Saint-Michel and the D-Day landing beaches are each around an hour’s drive away. Having lived here for many years, Sue and Ian offer a warm welcome and plenty of local knowledge.
