Villa Jessica is a tastefully designed family villa in an absolutely stunning location on a private, gated access road, just 1 km north of the Spanish “white village” of Sayalonga on the Costa del Sol. The house is ideal as a vacation villa—it is maintained to an exceptionally high standard and is both aesthetically pleasing and extremely comfortable. Sayalonga captivates with its perfect location: it offers breathtaking views of the sea and the mountains, yet is not too far from the beach—the drive there takes only 20 minutes and follows paved roads the entire way (no unpaved paths). The villa offers spectacular views of the village and the many other white villages scattered across the mountains opposite. There is a beautiful view of the sea; on clear days, you can even see the Rock of Gibraltar and, at times, the coast of North Africa. 50 minutes to Málaga Airport. 25 minutes to Torre del Mar.
Nature and surroundings
SIGHTS The Iglesia de Santa Catalina was built in the 16th century on the site of an old mosque. It has two naves separated by round arches. The main nave features a roof truss from the Mudejar period, and the other nave houses the 17th-century Chapel of the Virgin of the Rosary. Outside, you can see the octagonal tower and, separate from the church, the Chapel of Saint Anthony. Next to the church is another chapel built in the 16th century, the Ermita de San Cayetano. Inside is an impressive 18th-century sculpture of the saint. One of the most striking sites in this town in the Axarquía is the “Round Cemetery.” In reality, the cemetery is octagonal, which, combined with the rounded burial niches, gives it a unique appearance. To shed light on the cemetery’s origins, it has its own information center.
