Alice is set on 2.5 acres of land, in a small hamlet in the heart of rural Brittany, surrounded by fields and forests, rivers and lakes - the perfect place to stop and breathe, away from the busy pace of ‘normal life’ A characterful detached stone-built house, with many traditional features, Alice has a large fireplace with log burner, beamed ceilings and exposed stonework There is a stunning large living/dining room, with patio doors onto your private garden. The perfect spot to relax, listen to the birds and appreciate the dark skies, or enjoy an alfresco barbecue. Alice has 3 pretty bedrooms, with a bathroom upstairs, and separate wc downstairs You can also enjoy the fabulous landscaped grounds, shared heated outdoor swimming pool, boule court and games room We are only a 5 minute drive from historic Guémené, with its restaurants and shops and 30 minutes from mediaeval Pontivy Alice is one of three cottages sharing the pool, games room and communal grounds
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is set in the heart of rural Brittany – a perfect place to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the French countryside, and our stunning dark skies The area is perfect for walks and bike rides, with forests, lakes, canals and rivers to explore, together with lovely villages, towns, castles and many historic sites There are walks from the door - a lovely circuit or two, or stroll through the beautiful woods to Guemene for a spot of lunch. Cycling is very popular as the roads here are so quiet and empty, it can be hilly, so for the less adventurous, you can also cycle along the canals There are many local lakes nearby, including Guerledan, with something for everyone to enjoy - beaches, swimming, canoeing, fishing etc The south Brittany coast is less than an hour away, with numerous stunning beaches and coastline, plus the islands off Morbihan to discover. Then you can escape back to the peace and quiet of our little hamlet at the end of your busy day exploring.
