Vacation bungalow in a beautiful and quiet place in the Fonteinbos in Oudemirdum in Freisland. Bungalow is equipped with many amenities and the area offers something for everyone: a forest for walking or cycling, stores, a supermarket, butcher and restaurants in the brinkdorp or very nearby ('t Mar in Mirns or the Mallemok in Sloten), nice characteristic Frisian places in the vicinity such as Sloten, Balk and Lemmer, the IJsselmeer within 2 km. With bicycles, a mountain bike and a road bike in the shed you can get anywhere healthy and also outside the bungalow you can relax in the summer with lots of space and greenery. There is also a sup at your disposal to enjoy sailing around the many Frisian waters. Of course, the cottage is equipped with WiFi, good cooking facilities and you can sleep peacefully. In short: if you just want to be in nature, looking for peace and quiet then this is the place to be!
Nature and surroundings
The surroundings are beautiful with several forests where you can enjoy hiking or biking. In these forests live many different birds which makes it an attractive base for birdwatchers. Gaasterland has a slightly hilly landscape what makes it special and varied. Oudemirdum is also a good base to visit other Frisian villages and towns, such as nearby Sloten or Balk or Stavoren or Lemmer. A little further away Sneek, Heerenveen and other Frisian cities are worth a visit. Because Oudemirdum is near the IJsselmeer, you can also enjoy the water with a sup or a boat. In Mirns at 4 km away you can very well kitesurf and is also the restaurant located there 't Mar recommended. Even in the middle of summer, it is wonderfully quiet in many places. Also for children there is plenty to do: play equipment in the park or Sybrandy's play paradise at the Oudemirdummer cliff on the beach (with swimming pool for kids).
