On the edge of Quistinic, facing the Blavet, we have eco-renovated this 18th-century thatched cottage to offer a comfortable, bright gite, with an exceptional view of the Blavet from the private terrace. Restored with natural, traditional materials, lime/hemp insulation on the walls, covered with earthen plaster. Hemp wool under the thatch, poplar panelling. Terracotta floor tiles on the ground floor, cedar worktops and shelves. Heat pump coupled with underfloor heating. All electrical networks are shielded to eliminate radiation. We live in the house next door.
Nature and surroundings
The environment is very hilly and wooded, with no intensive farming and plenty of pastureland. The commune has 100 km of footpaths, with its sunken lanes, chapels, fountains... A hiking trail starts 50 m from the house. Access to the towpath, via the Minazen lock (5 km) or the Manerven lock (3 km), is ideal for walking or cycling. For birdwatching, Gavres and Locmiquélic are 30 minutes away. Less than an hour from the Golfe du Morbihan, Séné reserve, Suscinio, Duer marshes... Poul Fétan, the thatched cottage village still alive in 1850, is less than 10 minutes away by car. Beaches: Plouhinec, Le Pouldu 40 minutes away. Larmor Plage is 30 minutes away. Lorient is 30 minutes away, with its Interceltic Festival and sailing centre (La Base). Le Faouët is 35 minutes away, with its 16th-century market hall, Sainte Barbe chapel, Fiacre chapel and Ellé valley. Access to the RN24 (Rennes) and RN165 (Vannes - Quimper) national roads is 10 minutes away. Hennebont is 15 minutes away.
