Family Bouma welcomes you to this nature house. A renovated house of more than 100 years old in El Saltador Bajo, within the protected Cabo de Gata National Park (Andalusia region). It has a spacious first floor for two people. A 3rd bed can be realized in the living room. The house has a large sun and shade terrace with beautiful views over the village and the mountains. It is managed by Maaike Bouma. She lives in El Saltador Bajo and can give you all the information about (among other things) the environment, hiking and touring.
Nature and surroundings
El Saltador Bajo is an authentic, former mining village where you can taste the real Spanish atmosphere. You can take beautiful walks there. The village square is located on the rambla, the unpaved riverbed. El Saltador Bajo is located in the protected natural park Gabo de Gata. Due to the protected status of the area, no construction (re)building is allowed in the area. As a result, the villages in this area have retained their authenticity and there is no mass tourism. The village is located in southeastern Spain, 2250 km from Utrecht. The nearest airports are Almeria (60 km) and Allicante (250 km). In the summer months (July to September), daytime temperatures are high. You can cool down on the beaches and possibly in the plunge pool belonging to the apartment. Spring and fall are lovely summers. Cabo de Gata is the warmest place in Europe in winter, therefore it is very suitable for those who enjoy the winter sun.
