Welcome to this nature house! Until 2017, this house was used as a sheep pen with space for about 15 sheep, lambing pens, and hay storage. In 2020, we began renovating it and transformed it into a cozy home with a floor area of about 65 m². You enter through the indoor storage room, which also has space for bicycles. There is one bedroom that can be configured with either a twin bed (lits jumeaux) or two single beds. There is also a bathroom, a separate toilet, a living room, and an open kitchen with a Dolce Gusto machine, which comes with pods for your first few days. The cottage is equipped as standard with toilet paper, dishwasher tablets and dish soap, and salt, pepper, and oil. We’ve already made up the beds for you. There’s a terrace with seating at both the front and the back. The cottage also features French doors, internet, a TV, air conditioning for both heating and cooling, and parking.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located in the Larense Broek between Laren and Holten on our property of approximately 9,200 m², which features a frog pond, wooded areas, and a sheep pasture with two headstrong Clun Forest sheep. There are also five curious cats and Olaf, our overly enthusiastic dog. On clear nights, you can enjoy stunning stargazing from the patio behind the cottage or by the frog pond! There are plenty of hiking and biking opportunities nearby, such as the Larens Enkenpad, the Verwolde estate, and the Lochemse Berg. The village of Laren is about five kilometers away. There you’ll find cozy outdoor cafes, restaurants, and shops. Lochem is a charming little town about 11 kilometers away. The Sallandse Heuvelrug nature reserve, including the Holterberg, is about eight kilometers away. The Hanseatic cities of Zutphen and Deventer are about a 20-minute drive away.

None—everything was more than we could have hoped for. We were here visiting family and were looking for a base and a quiet place to come back to after a hectic visit and a lot of driving. This was perfect for that.
