Escape to your very own Calvados barrel set above our picturesque lake. Over a hundred years old the barrel has been converted to hold a comfortable double bed and table. This cute accommodation feels isolated and very tranquil yet is only 10 mins from the beautiful town of Domfront. Explore the beautiful Normandy countryside with the cycle trails, Velo scenic and Voie Verte all close by. The charming Forest D'Andaine is only a few kilometres away and the lovely town of Bagnoles De L'Orne with its fabulous restaurants, thermal spa and lake just a 15 minute drive. Cook on the outside kitchen or hire a bbq but if you want to completely relax we are happy to deliver a breakfast hamper or delicous dinner. Sit toasting marshmellows over the fire pit or just listening to all the wonderful bird song. You have your own eco shower room but if this is too close to nature you can wander down and sample our normal shower block
Nature and surroundings
Set above our lake the barrel is the perfect place to watch the herons, kingfishers and listen to all the glorious birdsong. We have owls, wood peckers, cuckoos and Herons to name just a few. We have so much wildlife, a lake full of fish, wild boar, foxes, coypu and even a couple of far sightings of lone wolves. We also keep goats, chickens, alpacas and a pony all of which we very happily show off and let you feed.
