Nature house in Saint Aubin de Bonneval

We were very warmly welcomed by the owner, who told us a lot about the house and its surroundings. He also sells good products made from apples from his own orchards, from jelly to calvados. The chambre d,hote (the site does not accept apostrophe or accent circonflexe) in the 17th century former dovecote with oak half-timbering is very nice, with a spacious bedroom and a small living room in the ridge. When we indicated that we were actually looking for an independent cottage with kitchen, we were able to move into another house across the street, with a large garden around it, without any problems. There we spent a wonderful week.

We werden zeer hartelijk ontvangen door de eigenaar, die veel vertelde over het huis en de omgeving. Hij verkoopt ook goede producten van appels uit zijn eigen boomgaarden, van gelei tot calvados.
De chambre d,hote (de site accepteert geen apostrof of accent circonflexe) in de 17de eeuwse voormalige duiventil met eiken vakwerkconstructie is heel fraai, met een ruime slaapkamer en een kleine woonkamer in de nok. Toen we aangaven eigenlijk een zelfstandig vakantiehuis met keuken te hebben gezocht konden we zonder problemen onze intrek nemen in een ander huis aan de overkant, met een grote tuin eromheen. Daar hebben we een heerlijke week doorgebracht.

The house is on the border of flat arable land and a green stream valley. Nicely sheltered and with a beautiful linden avenue. It is a quiet place where at most you hear an occasional agricultural vehicle. For cycling and walking it is excellent. The nearest supermarket or restaurant are at least 9 km away, and by bike it's a big climb. But it is therefore a real nature house.

Het huis ligt op de grens van vlak akkerland en een groen beekdal. Mooi beschut en met een prachtige lindenlaan. Het is een rustige plek waar je hooguit af en toe een landbouwvoertuig hoort. Voor fietsen en wandelen is het uitstekend. De dichtstbijzijnde supermarkt of restaurant zijn minimaal op 9 km afstand, en met de fiets is het een flinke klim. Maar het is dus wel een echt natuurhuisje.
