Nature house in MARCILLY

We were in the middle of an exceptional heat wave at the cottage. Of course, nobody can do anything about that. Because of it, we were more confined to the house. It was too hot to do anything else. The patio furniture isn’t very comfortable to sit on, but it’s great for enjoying breakfast outside. In some places upstairs, there were no curtains or not enough of them, so the sunshades weren’t enough. No sheets, just comforters. The kitchen has just a bit too few cooking utensils. For example, there’s only one small cutting board. There are deep plates, but no soup bowls. No handy serving dishes. The doors on the built-in refrigerator and dishwasher were loose. As a result, the refrigerator doesn’t close properly, and the dishwasher door won’t close all the way. Due to the thresholds and uneven stairs with a wobbly handrail, the cottage is less accessible to people with disabilities than expected.
The cottage is very beautiful, though, and the owner is very kind and approachable. She’s always willing to help find solutions. Thanks to the fan, we were able to stay somewhat cool.

We zaten net in een uitzonderlijke hittegolf in het huisje. Daar kan uiteraard niemand iets aan doen. Hierdoor waren we wel meer huisgebonden. Het was te heet voor iets anders. De tuinmeubelen zijn niet erg comfortabel om op te zitten maar wel prima om lekker buiten te ontbijten. Op sommige plekken boven geen of te weinig gordijnen waardoor de zonwering te kort schoot. Geen lakens, alleen dekbedden. De keuken bevat net te weinig kookgerei. Bijvoorbeeld maar 1 klein snijplankje. Wel diepe borden maar geen soepkommen. Geen handige serveerschalen. De deuren van de inbouwapparatuur van koelkast en vaatwasser zaten los. De koelkast sluit daardoor slecht en de deur vd vaatwasser kan niet geheel naar beneden. Door de drempels en ongelijke trap met wankele leuning toch minder goed toegankelijk voor minder validen dan verwacht.
Het huisje is wel heel erg mooi en de eigenaresse heel erg aardig en toegankelijk. Altijd bereidt om mee te denken. Dankzij de ventilator toch nog wat verkoeling.

It is indeed in a beautiful location. The surroundings are pleasant and clean. The people are friendly and approachable. It’s a very peaceful area.

Het staat inderdaad op een prachtige locatie. Fijne en schone omgeving. Mensen zijn aardig en toegankelijk. Zeer rustige omgeving

No 10, because there should always be growth. But it was in 1 word: Fantastic cottage! Everything is there for a pleasant stay. Cottage itself is much more spacious than I thought. Also the space around the cottage (large lawn to romp, bbq and, soccer, reading etc.) What could possibly be improved is a fine garden set. With adjustable chairs. But is not necessary and possibly there are, but was now still early in the season. In terms of activities we went mainly to the D-day beaches and museums. Is most 1 to 1.5 hours drive from the cottage. Also visited Dinan. Really worth it! Hostess Sofie also has good ideas that she wants to share with you. In the area itself did not do much, because adult sons mainly wanted to go to D-day museums. Several times in the evening we drove to Mont Saint Michel for a beautiful sunset (20 min.).

Geen 10, omdat er altijd groei mogelijk moet blijven. Maar het was in 1 woord: Fantastisch huisje! Alles is aanwezig voor een prettig verblijf. Huisje zelf is veel ruimer dan ik dacht. Ook de ruimte rondom het huisje (groot grasveld om heerlijk te ravotten, bbq en, voetballen, lezen enz.)
Wat mogelijk nog verbeterd zou kunnen is een fijn tuinset. Met verstelbare stoelen. Maar is niet noodzakelijk en mogelijk zijn die er wel, maar was nu nog vroeg in het seizoen.
Qua activiteiten zijn wij vooral naar de D-day stranden en musea geweest. Ligt meest op 1 a 1,5 uur rijden van het huisje. Ook Dinan bezocht. Echt de moeite! Prachtig.
Gastvrouw Sofie heeft ook goede ideeën die ze met je wil delen. In de omgeving zelf niet zoveel gedaan, omdat volwassen zoons vooral naar D-day musea wilden. Meerdere keren 's avonds naar Mont Sint Michel gereden, voor een mooie zonsondergang (20 min,)

Complete, practical, cozy. Peace, space, nature. Clean! Good beds. Fine towels. Washing machine and dishwasher working well. Nothing no comments. Only praise, really worth repeating.

Compleet, praktisch, gezellig. Rust, ruimte, natuur. Schoon! Goede bedden. Fijne handdoeken. Wasmachine en vaatwasser die het goed doen. Niets geen opmerkingen. Alleen maar lof.
Echt voor herhaling vatbaar.

Fine welcome from hostess Sofie. The house was very clean and fully equipped. well equipped kitchen, good bathrooms, neat bedrooms, stove with wood, fine sitting area etc The stairs up can be a challenge for persons who are not so good to walk. (high steps) Car can be parked in front of the door, Cozy large garden with seating and table + garden with wild flowers and herbs, fruit trees etc (note - no fence around garden) We were with 2 adults + our small dog and had a very nice time and would love to go back again.

Fijne ontvangst van gastvrouw Sofie. Het huis was heel schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien.
Goed uitgeruste keuken, goede badkamers, nette slaapkamers, kacheltje met hout, prima zithoek etc
De trap naar boven kan een uitdaging zijn voor personen die niet zo goed te been zijn. (hoge treden)
Auto kan je voor de deur parkeren,
Gezellige grote tuin met zitgelegenheid en tafel + tuin met wilde bloemen en kruiden, fruitbomen etc (let wel - geen omheining rond tuin)


Wij waren met 2 volwassenen + onze kleine hond en hebben een heel leuke tijd gehad en gaan graag nog eens terug.

A lovely quiet place. Good base for nice trips. 10 km from a "centre commerciale" where you can find everything you need.Mont st Michel half an hour away.Beautiful rural green environment.Fine walks nearby.

Een heerlijk rustige plek. Goede uitvalsbasis voor leuke uitstappen. 10 km van een "centre commerciale" waar je alles vind wat je nodig hebt.
Mont st Michel op een half uurtje rijden.
Mooie landelijke groene omgeving.
Fijne wandelingen in de buurt.
