We recently started renting out our special family house located on an island in the Loire. The location is as good as private: the only ones you will share the island with are the cows and sheep that graze there and the 3 farmers who come to have a look now and then. The house has a large living room and kitchen and two separate sleeping areas (each with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and separate toilet). It is the perfect place to get together as a family, two families or a call of friends (or cooking club). There is plenty of space to chill with each other by the fireplace, in the garden, at the table over breakfast or dinner or while walking around the island (if you are not afraid of cows) or just to retreat with a cup of tea or glass of wine.
Nature and surroundings
The Loire region is a beautiful region with beautiful bike paths along the river and hiking trails through the hilly countryside. It is a region with many castles, vineyards, mushroom farms and beautiful towns. In Gennes (village across the one burg) you have a weekly market with fresh local products and in Les Rosiers (village across the other burg) you have a small brocante every month with nice second-hand stuff. You can also get fresh croissants and baguettes daily on foot from one of the bakeries in the villages. Also, many people are into arts and crafts in the area and so you will find many stores and studios with art and homemade things (very nice to take home as a gift for someone or for yourself!) By the way, you can rent bikes in the village!
