Located in orchards on the outskirts of St Martin de Montbray and opposite the church of St Martin in rural Normandy, I have restored with respect for character and using traditional methods and environmentally friendly materials. The furniture is antique and vintage and the beds are 150 cm (king or queen size, depending on where you are from), reupholstered and upholstered by my partner Donna. La Calècherie has on the first floor a farmhouse kitchen, a cozy room and a separate dining room with access to the garden and upstairs there are 2 suites. The Plantagenet suite (so called because the original corbeille bed was bought from a scion of the family) consists of a bedroom, bathroom with antique saracen bath and separate WC and the Empire suite consists of a bedroom with en-suite shower room with WC.

The nature house is in orchards where I just mow paths and let nature take its course. The orchards provide enough apples to press 1,000 liters of cider a year.... What we don't use, we give back to nature - and all maintenance in the gardens and orchards is organic with minimal use of machinery. There is a wide range of wildlife in the gardens and orchards and we believe we are a haven for wildlife - for which I always try to create an ideal habitat.
