Nestled in the beautiful Normandy Bocage, this is your nature home from home situated in part of an ancient barn. Surrounded by fields, and situated at the end of a no through road, although remote, this is within reach of many well known tourist attractions and areas of outstanding beauty. A sloping path along the wall of the barn leads you to the front door and once you pass through the doorway, everything is on one level. Furnished with an eclectic mix of vintage and modern furniture, the open plan living area has a well equipped kitchen, a dining area and a comfortable seating area dominated by the stunning chimney piece. The traditional French bed has been reupholstered with a lovely nature-inspired fabric and is complemented with an art deco wardrobe and dressing table. The bathroom has an antique double ended roll top bath, perfect for soaking after a busy day exploring and a shower cubicle for those quick morning showers.
Nature and surroundings
The grounds include a spring-fed pond providing habitat & shelter for diverse species. The garden is planted & tended with the intention of encouraging & caring for nature so we attract a diverse fauna. Barn owls live in the hayloft, Long Eared owls, Little Owl visit & other species of owl and buzzard hunt the farmland where there is, naturally, prey; poison is never used. Swallows nest in the barn & return every year, often producing two clutches of young. Dragonflies fly up & down the garden & butterflies, moths and bees feed on the nectar of the Buddleia grown especially for them. Every October, during wet weather, Fire Salamanders make their way to their hibernation sites & during a night time walk, many can be seen moving along the lane. Midwife toads & frogs can be heard calling & are often seen. There are plenty of local walks to enjoy, the tow path along the river Vire is a delight.

Gylia December 28, 2025 General rating:We were here to escape the New Year's Eve fireworks and what a good place we were in. The cottage is lovingly decorated and extremely complete. From puzzles to an airfryer or a wine cooler; everything is there. The surroundings are extremely beautiful and Donna's hospitality finish it off.

Nature, peace & environment:Lovely quiet area with lots of hiking opportunities. Lots of wildlife and birds of prey seen. A hospitable host who provided a warm welcome with a laid table and homemade soup. The cottage is cozy, lovingly decorated and offers lots of privacy.
Heerlijk rustige omgeving met veel wandelmogelijkheden. Veel wild en roofvogels gezien. Een gastvrije host die gezorgd had voor een warm welkom met een gedekte tafel en zelfgemaakte soep.

Simone April 21, 2025 General rating:the only "negative" thing I would like to point out is due to the many carpets, it is not very allergy-friendly. it's just an old house, with gaps, nooks and wooden floors and that's exactly what makes it beautiful! Special thanks to the host, who is super friendly and welcoming.
We definitely want to come back one day. Excursion Tip: Be sure to visit Brittany (Bretagne) and the beaches in Normandy if possible and learn something about history. It is just as important to look forwards as it is educational to look backwards even though it is sad! Best regardsNature, peace & environment:we had a great time here - the landscape is wondeful, flowery and the house is the definition of coziness. We also loved that there were chickens and cats and even a goose. It is the perfect place to relax.
