This Naturehouse is a maison de maître in a small hamlet in Normandy Opposite the church of Saint Martin, I have restored this Naturehouse from a derelict in a style sympathetic to her age and have discretely made improvements to her energy efficiency. The furniture is antique, the beds, all original French (all 150cm kingsize, rare in France have been reupholstered and recovered in traditional toile de jouy and floral patterns). This Naturehouse and her gardens cover 2,250 square metres and the gardens are maintained by me with wildlife and the environment at the forefront; no pesticides or herbicides are used and the gardens are planted in keeping with the age and character of the house with the southern garden having been planted with peony (reflected in the decoration of the south-facing bedroom) and "old" roses - the "lawns" are left to their own devices for any periods when wild flowers are providing nectar-flow and in late spring are usually heavy with bee orchids.

This Naturehouse is set at the edge of St Martin de Montbray with views of our adjacent orchards that provide apples from which we make cider. I am doing everything I can to encourage diversity in flora and fauna with the main orchards being largely unmown - surprisingly, many butterfly seem to like tall grass. The surrounding countryside is largely arable and pasture. In the gardens and orchards you may find toads, frogs, newts, salamanders, rabbits, foxes, hares, deer...
