Off-grid cortijo in the heart of the Alpujarra with terrace, garden, swimming pool and beautiful unobstructed views of the mountains and the sea in the distance. This is the cortijo I live in and sometimes rent out when I'm away. I've renovated it with great care and love. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do every day, and that it's the perfect place to relax and visit the area. It's 12 min from the village of Lanjarón (by car, but you can walk down in 15 min and back up in ... 25 minutes :), 45min from Granada, 45min from the sea (Almuñecar) and 40min from the white villages. Powered by solar panels for electricity and acequia water from the Sierra Nevada, it offers 1 bedroom with a 160cm double bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds (can be configured as 1 180cm double bed) and 1 bedroom with a 180cm double bed (can be configured as 2 single beds as required). 2 bathrooms.
Nature and surroundings
The cortijo overlooks the village of Lanjarón. It is surrounded by abundant vegetation, watered by the acequia (a water distribution system fed by the Sierra Nevada): Around fifty olive trees, walnut trees, chestnut trees, a lemon tree, a mandarin tree, a persimmon tree, a pomegranate tree, etc. Between the pool area and the various terraces, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to relaxing with a book, taking a siesta or enjoying a cup of coffee or an aperitif. The nearby house is not permanently inhabited, so you'll enjoy almost absolute peace and quiet. Several hiking trails pass right by the house. Don't forget to stock up on provisions, as you may not want to go anywhere else. Worth knowing: you've got to earn the peace and quiet and the view... the access road is a winding, sometimes narrow mountain road that ends in a dirt track. You don't necessarily need a 4x4, but avoid a low-slung car.
