In the quiet French countryside, near the village of Néret, lies this comfortable 4-person gîte in a converted outbuilding from 1840. Once stable and grain storage, now a nice place to unwind. Downstairs you will find a spacious sitting area (with TV for your own apps), a kitchen with large dining table and a separate toilet. Upstairs are two 2-person bedrooms, all with "emperor-size" box springs (90x210), a sitting area on the landing and a bathroom with walk-in shower and toilet. Outside, you sit on your terrace by the meadow - with views, peace and quiet. And in the evening? A magnificent starry sky. No light pollution, no noise, just silence. Own transport is a must; you are really in the heart of the French countryside here. Yet only 3.5 hours below Paris (720 km from Breda). Only for adults, so no bombs by the pool - but WiFi, nature, time and space. De-stimulation is not a goal here, just what happens. We look forward to seeing you.
Nature and surroundings
Your gîte is on a hill with wide views, about 4 km outside the village of Neret, in the quiet south of Le Berry. Here, far from city bustle and tourist crowds, the landscape changes color almost weekly: bright red poppies, bright yellow rapeseed, warm sunflowers and the gold of ripening grain. The silence here is so quiet you can hear it. All around are forests and agricultural fields where you might just run into a deer, fox, hare or wild boar. Do you like walking, cycling or just doing nothing with a good book? Then this is the place for you. In the summer there are regular flea markets and vide-greniers in the region. For shopping, bakeries and restaurants you drive to La Châtre (14 km) or Châteaumeillant (9 km), known for its wine and its own AOC. Upon arrival there is a folder full of tips and trips waiting for you - and a chilled bottle of wine. After all, you are in France.
