It is located in a forest on the Verwolde estate in Laren, Gelderland. For two hundred years the Van der Borch van Verwolde family lived in the country house on the estate, which dates back to 1776. The forest where it is located is owned by Sophia van der Borch and it has never been open to the public in this way until this summer. The woods on the estate are beautiful, and several hiking trails cross the area, including the Pieter Trail and the Special Trees Trail. Outside of these trails, few people visit. Therefore, the forests are beautifully pristine and there are many deer.
