Nature house in Laren

It could have been a real “wow” experience because of the cottage’s location and exterior. But unfortunately, the interior was somewhat disappointing. The first impression was mediocre. They used thrift store furnishings, but unfortunately not the real gems. The floor feels plastic-like and is worn out. The kitchen looks neat, but is sparsely equipped (and the paint is peeling off the colored glass). The walls are terribly peeling—why not give them a quick touch-up? It also wasn’t entirely clean.
The bedrooms are downright awful. So many stains and marks on the walls and ceiling, and hair on the nightstands. At night, we could hear a mouse scurrying above the ceiling. The beds were comfortable, though.
In stark contrast, the bathroom and toilet were beautifully done and clean!
In short, with a little TLC, this place could be turned into something really lovely.
We also would have appreciated receiving an email from the owner beforehand with instructions and a welcome message.
We did enjoy our weekend, though.

Het had een wow kunnen zijn vanwege de ligging en het uiterlijk van het huisje. Maar helaas viel het binnen deels tegen. De eerste indruk was matig. Er is gebruik gemaakt van kringloop inrichting, maar jammer genoeg niet de pareltjes. De vloer doet plastic-achtig aan en is versleten. De keuken ziet er netjes uit, maar is spaarzaam uitgerust (en de verf bladdert van de gekleurde glazen). De muren zijn verschrikkelijk afgebladderd, waarom niet even een opfrisbeurt? Ook was het niet helemaal schoon.
De slaapkamers zijn ronduit naar. Zoveel vlekken en plekken op muren en plafond, haren op de nachtkastjes. ‘s Nachts getrippel van een muis boven het plafond. De bedden lagen wel goed.
Als positieve tegenstelling de badkamer en het toilet. Prachtig gedaan en schoon!
Kortom, met een beetje tlc is er iets heel moois van te maken.
We hadden ook graag vooraf een mail van de eigenaar ontvangen met instructies en een welkom.
We hebben wel genoten van ons weekend.

The cottage is in a beautiful location, completely secluded with a lovely view. The garden gets plenty of sun, so it’s nice to sit outside. A little pruning at the back would provide an even better view. You can take walks along the mowed paths in the meadow, which is also fun.

Het huisje ligt prachtig, helemaal vrij met een mooi uitzicht. Er komt veel zon in de tuin, dus het is lekker buiten zitten. Iets snoeien aan de achterkant zou een nog betere uitkijk geven. Je mag wandelen over de gemaaide paden in de wei, ook leuk.

It's a spacious house with a lovely bathroom. Here and there, the kitchen, the furnishings, and the walls could use a little spruce-up.

Het is een ruim huis, met een heerlijke badkamer. Hier en daar kunnen de keuken, de inventaris en de muren wel een opfrisbeurt gebruiken

The cottage is tucked away and offers unobstructed views from the front and back. What a peaceful place!

Het huisje ligt verscholen en heeft voor en achter vrij uitzicht. Wat een rust!

A very nice house. It was clean and had excellent bathrooms. Beautiful terraces, comfortable furniture inside and out.

Ein sehr schönes Haus. Es war sauber und bot hervorragende sanitäre Anlagen. Schöne Terrassen, gemütliche Möbel innen und außen.

We really enjoyed it; it was very peaceful. Just be prepared for mosquitoes :-)

Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, sehr ruhig. Nur auf Mücken sollte man vorbereitet sein :-)
