Nature house in Revilla de Cepeda -Villamejil

La Madrigata was built in 1934 by a local merchant. In its origins La Madrigata was a house and a business, as it housed the grocery store that supplied the town of Revilla de Cepeda with everything it needed. Years later it passed into the hands of a family of farmers who bequeathed it to their granddaughter. La Madrigata was uninhabited during the last few years and the condition of the property was quite bad, as it had only been used for agricultural work. The current owner bought the property from her in 2010. The restoration took about three years. In 2011 the rehabilitation of the Casa de Labranza was undertaken, with rural getaways in mind. First the roof was redone and between 2013 and 2014 the integral reform of the House was carried out until achieving the result that can be enjoyed today: house and rural apartments. The house was baptized as La Madrigata by the current owner due to the fusion of the words: madrileña and maragata.

It is a rural tourism complex, consisting of two apartments and a house that share a courtyard. It is possible to rent it completely or separately. It is located in a rural environment, in a small village almost uninhabited, in the region called La Cepeda, only 9 km from Astorga, 335 from Madrid (about 3 h. trip), and less than 45 minutes from León. Here you can enjoy a few days of peace in the middle of nature. It is no coincidence that Celts, Romans and Gaudí himself chose this area to live and work.
