Nature house in Kraggenburg

Oud Kraggenburg is a refuge built in 1848 in the Zuiderzee, from 1968 National Monument. You are staying at the bottom of the (former) sea. The chalet is located on the grounds of Oud Kraggenburg. It is a wonderful place to unwind, enjoy the silence and views. The house is optimally suited for two people. Two additional guests would be possible. It has a wood stove, which may be stoked with wood from our own trees. You are free to walk, sit or lie about the grounds and make full use of the herb garden and "the playground," but the mound with our home and associated garden is private property. You may sometimes have to deal with the lively presence of our grandchildren, whom we teach to leave our guests alone. Holistic Center The Source is also located on our property. If desired, you can take advantage of its offerings during your stay.

Old Kraggenburg is located on the southeastern edge of the Northeast Polder, with plenty of walking and cycling opportunities in the 1000-acre nature reserve of Natuurmonumenten, such as the Voorsterbos, Kadoelerbos and National Monument Waterloopbos. Also nearby is Netl (wildest garden in the Netherlands) and the Land-art work "Pier and Horizon" on the Zwartemeer dike / in the Zwarte water.Several former Zuyder Zee towns such as Vollenhove, Blokzijl, Urk and Kampen are very worthwhile, as well as Giethoorn, the Weerribben, museum Schokland and museum Nagele.
