A traditional village house, on the outskirts of the village, Polopos, with rustic character, a double bedroom and a bedroom. The nature house is old, probably 200 years old, and has all the character of an old traditional Andalusian house. Polopos is very peaceful and quiet. There are three rooms and a bathroom on the ground floor, and two rooms on the second floor, one of which opens onto a 12m2 terrace that offers panoramic views of the hills and the sea. There are ceilings of rustic wooden beams and terracotta floors. The house is decorated in a traditional style and quite simple, with pine and reed furniture. There are all amenities: electric hot water, electric and butane gas heating, shower, refrigerator, etc. The stairs to the 2nd floor are quite steep. There is no wifi or TV. Polopos, as recently seen on Dutch TV, is a very quiet beautiful and rural village, about 6 km from the sea directly (10 km on a good road).
Nature and surroundings
Polopos lies at the head of a valley, 788 meters high and with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. On a clear winter day, you can sometimes see to Africa. It also overlooks the beautiful and unspoiled Polopos Valley. Polopos is in the Sierra Contraviesa, an area of olives, almonds, vines, oranges and goats. The slopes are very steep, often 45 degrees or more. Botany is abundant: few forests remain, but in Haza de Lino above Polopos survives the highest cork oak forest in Europe and the oldest on the Iberian Peninsula. In the ravines and valleys are wetlands with rich flora. Just 10 km from Polopos, the coast has a Mediterraneo-subtropical climate with appropriate flora.
