This naturehouse is situated in the only genuine working guest ranch in Croatia. Surrounded by 200,000 hectares of the UNESCO Velebit Nature Park, the ranch offers a range of equestrian adventures through the picturesque mountains, valleys and coastal landscapes of Velebit. Enjoy spectacular views, stream crossings, and riding through gorges and meadows with the opportunity to maybe see some of Europe’s most iconic wildlife, including bear, wolf and Balkan chamois. Riders are paired with a horse suited to their riding experience, and are provided with a full safety briefing and demonstration. After arriving at the retreat and settling in, getting to know your companion and trusted steed is the most important call for the day. Experiences here can range from full day rides of 7-9 hours in the saddle or short afternoon excursions of a few hours. Riding through the mountain valleys and canyons using old merchant trade routes is a good opportunity to see some of the area’s wildlife including bear and deer. While enjoying your time at the retreat, delicious meals and hospitality keep you well-grounded and ready for all the days adventures. Cosy rooms and comfort are essential to rest those weary bodies after long days discovering on horseback!
