The area is characterized by beautiful nature, ideal for hikers, sunbathers and sports enthusiasts. They can visit the many gorges that are a short distance away. Windsurfers can get their money's worth in the many bays. The route of the jeep safari runs along the road across the street. On the neighbor's plot is a donkey, so don't be surprised if you hear bleating. There is a Dutch diving school in Plakias, which is very well known. Plakias is a cozy place with a nice boulevard. On the one hand, mass tourism has not yet struck, on the other hand: for people who are looking for a little more entertainment, the Ostracobar with pleasant music is a possibility for a pleasant evening. In addition, the Ammos beach bar offers plenty of entertainment for real die-hards. If you really want more of a challenge, the big city of Rethymno is a half-hour drive from Plakias.
