Nature house in Colmenar Solano

Nestled among the olive groves in the countryside and the gently rolling hills of the Axarquia region in Andalusia, northeast of Málaga, in the hamlet of Solano, you’ll find Finca Maran—an authentic olive farm that has been lovingly transformed into a small-scale paradise. Casita Maran is completely self-contained. It consists of a living/sleeping area with one double bed, a sofa bed, built-in air conditioning, and a wood-burning stove. The veranda features a comfortable lounge area, a dining table, and stunning views at any time of day. There are two houses on the property: the main house, the Casa, and the casita with a covered veranda. During your stay, the casita is entirely yours, including a shared pool and several seating areas in your section of the property. The tap water is filtered using a Phoenix water filter, so you’ll have delicious drinking water straight from the tap. Our own home is also located on the property. When we’re here, we’ll of course respect your privacy.

This romantic nature house is located about a 15-minute drive from the villages of Colmenar, Riogordo, and Comares. All three are authentic and picturesque white Spanish villages. Each village has a supermarket, bank/ATM, pharmacy, bars, and restaurants. Just five minutes away is the typical Spanish tapas bar El Niño, perfect for a drink and a bite to eat. Comares, perched high on a cliff, offers a lovely walking tour where you can see the old Moorish influences. The beach at Torre del Mar is about 40 minutes away and features a pleasant promenade and charming beach bars. Thanks to its central location in the heart of the Axarquía and on the edge of the Montes de Málaga Natural Park, the casita is an excellent base for exploring cultural cities such as Málaga (beach, cathedral, and Gibralfaro Fortress), Seville (cathedral and Jewish quarter), Ronda (the gorge), Granada (Alhambra), Córdoba (Mezquita), and the coast. One of Spain’s natural wonders, El Torcal, is just an hour’s drive from the nature house. The spectacular Caminito del Rey is an hour and 20 minutes away. The ski resort in the Sierra Nevada is a two-hour drive away!
