In the middle of the woods of Gaasterland, southern Friesland, just outside the town of Oudemirdum, lies our light cozy nature house (75 m²), on a plot of over 1000 m² with lots of privacy. In 2017 it was completely renovated. There is a spacious, sunny terrace behind the house and nice shady spots in the spacious garden around the house, half of which is 'wild forest garden' . Everything in the house is ground floor, there is central heating and a cozy gas fireplace. There is a spacious kitchen, fully equipped, 2 spacious bedrooms and a good bathroom. The house is located on a small park with private vacation homes, without central facilities, except for a small playground. The cozy village Oudemirdum is within walking or cycling distance (500 meters) and there you will find a bakery, butcher, supermarket and several restaurants. The places Balk, Sloten, Sneek, Woudsend, Lemmer, Stavoren and Hindeloopen are all nearby. For sailing, the large lake Fluessen as well as the IJsselmeer is a perfect place.
Nature and surroundings
Relax in our cozy nature house, located just a minute's walk from the vast Gaasterland forests. An ideal base for those looking for a relaxing stay in the middle of nature. Enjoy the singing of the birds as you hike, bike or horseback ride through the beautiful countryside. For the little ones there is the adventurous gnome trail, and for the real hiking enthusiasts there are numerous marked routes to explore the area. Just three kilometers from the cottage is the IJsselmeer. Within an hour's walk you are already at the water, where you can swim, kite surf or just enjoy the sun on a terrace at the Mirnser Klif. Further on you will find recreation area De Hege Gerzen, with a beach, miniature golf and a playground for the children. The Wyldemark, a picturesque lake a 10-minute walk away, is highly recommended. Rent a boat and explore the area via the Luts to the cozy Balk. A perfect location to unwind!
