Nature house in la Taha - Pitres - Las Alpujarras

This is an eco-friendly home near Pitres on the southern slope of the Sierra Nevada. The property covers over 3,000 m² and features an orchard and two meadows with olive trees. On the ground floor, you’ll find the living area and dining area with an open kitchen, as well as a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The covered outdoor terrace with a barbecue is a wonderful spot on a warm summer day. On the first floor is the master bedroom with a double bed, a single bed, and a sink, and there is also a small bedroom with a single bed. The bathroom has a children’s bathtub, toilet, and sink. Doors from the master bedroom open onto the terrace, offering a stunning view of the valley. The pool and terrace are the focal point in the summer. Water comes from our own well, and electricity is generated by solar panels, with a quiet generator as a backup. Thanks to an inverter, the entire house is supplied with 220-volt alternating current. When you do a load of laundry in the machine, it’s a wonderful feeling knowing that the water comes from the well and the energy comes from the sun!

The Las Alpujarras region is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. There are beautiful trails for hikers and cyclists both in the high mountains and in the valleys. Several GR trails run through the area, and the GR7 even passes through Pitres! The nature house is surrounded by farmland with olive groves, vineyards, orchards, deep valleys, and forests. The white villages still retain the authentic style of North African villages. Pitres is just over two hours from the Malaga airport. The access road to the cottage is nearly a kilometer long, half of which is unpaved. However, you don’t need a special vehicle to drive on it. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the village, or a five-minute drive. La Taha is a group of seven villages, and Pitres is its administrative center. There is a supermarket, a bank with an ATM, a butcher, a bakery, a small bookstore, a pharmacy, and a 24-hour first-aid station. The Mediterranean beaches are an hour’s drive away, as is Granada with the Alhambra.
