Nature house in Moutiers sur le Lay

Welcome to this oasis of rest in the south of the Vendée! This ruralhut is situated on a charming six hectares estate, set near a wine town and only a 30 minute drive away from the beautiful Atlantic coast. Besides her own wine, the estate also offers three charming hotel rooms in the château, four luxury safari tents with private sanitary facilities (see house codes 26669, 26810, and 26813), and this comfortable ruralhut. The ruralhut is a sunny holiday home for five people, located on the (halved) tower of the original castle dating back to 1300. It is centrally located on the estate, just a 50 meter walk away from the large heated swimming pool. The thick walls of the castle ensure that the home stays cool during the summer. The spacious ruralhut is 100 m², is tastefully decorated, and has a private front and back garden. The ruralhut has a spacious entrance with a wardrobe and toilet, a large cozy living/dining room with original fireplace and open wood stove, separate kitchen, and access to the sheltered back garden. A spacious overflow with a sofa bed, a separate toilet and a bathroom with shower, and the large master bedroom can be found on the first floor. On the back side you can find the second bedroom with three beds, a large closet, and a chimney. There is also a DVD player, dishwasher, three wooden deckchairs, two wooden garden sets, a barbecue, and a private shed available.

The Vendée has a wonderful climate with almost as much sunshine as the Côte d’Azur. During your stay you can enjoy the castle wines, which bear the name of the of the estate. The “southern” appearance of the estate makes it an exclusive holiday destination for both young and old, where you will find plenty of space, beauty, and tranquility. From the house you can walk right into the forest, going towards a river located further down or to the Lac du Marillet. There’s much to discover on the estate itself as well though. A walk on the estate takes you past the vineyard, the old wine house, the restored pigeon tower, the special Poitou donkeys, the old stables, the original canine, the ruins of an old castle gate, the sacred spring on the pilgrimage path to Satiago de la Compostella, and the long driveway. The landlord would also be more than happy to tell you all about the birds and animals that appear on and around the estate. You can go to Mareuil sur Lay (three kilometers) for your daily groceries. You can find bakeries, a supermarket, a presse/tabac, a pizzeria, a pharmacy, and a gas station here.
