Welcome to this oasis of rest in the south of the Vendée! This ruralhut is situated on a charming six hectares estate, set near a wine town and only a 30 minute drive away from the beautiful Atlantic coast. The wine estate offers three delightful hotel rooms in the château, four luxurious lodges (see house codes 26669 and 26183), and a comfortable gîte (house code 26814). There is a large heated swimming pool. The ruralhut is quietly located with magnificent views and a convenient location in the sun. The lodge has been built on wooden poles, has its own sanitary facilities, a comfortable kitchen, and is 50 m² including the large and the partially covered veranda. The lodge has its own green ‘driveway’ with a large private garden, with a picnic table and a barbecue. Inside you have a fully equipped kitchen with fridge and mobile cooking block, giving you the possibility to cook outside simply by moving the block to the veranda. Besides that, the ruralhut has a bathroom with toilet, shower and sink, a living room, a double bed, a separate bedroom with three beds (one bunk bed), and a spacious walk-in closet. The Vendée has a wonderful climate with almost as much sunshine as the Côte d’Azur. The “southern” appearance of the estate makes it an exclusive holiday destination for both young and old, where you will find plenty of space, beauty, and tranquility. You can walk right into the forest from the ruralhut, going towards a river located further down or the Lac du Marillet. There’s much to discover on the estate itself as well though. A walk on the estate takes you past the vineyard, the ‘new’ château, the old wine house, the restored pigeon tower, the special Poitou donkeys, the old stables, the original canine, the ruins of an old castle gate, the sacred spring on the pilgrimage path to Satiago de la Compostella, and the long driveway. The landlord would also be more than happy to tell you all about the birds and animals that appear on the estate. You can go to Mareuil sur Lay (three kilometers) for your daily groceries. You can find bakeries, a supermarket, a presse/tabac, a pizzeria, a pharmacy, and a gas station here.
