Escape to a secluded cabin in Risdal, Southern Norway, where beautiful views, fresh forest air and peaceful evenings invite you to slow down. This cosy off-grid retreat is a wonderful base for couples, families and friends who want to enjoy nature without the crowds. Watch the sunset, share a meal and enjoy the quiet of the Norwegian countryside. The cabin sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms, each with a double bed. It has a welcoming living and dining area, a kitchen with facilities for simple meals, a bathroom with a bio toilet and an electric shower. Solar power supplies a 230V system for lighting and small electrical devices. There is no running water. We prepare 50 litres of fresh water for your arrival. More clean groundwater can be collected for free at a shared water point, about two minutes away by car. A simple and comfortable cabin experience, close to nature.

Step outside into forests, open hills and wide views of the Southern Norwegian landscape. Hiking starts right by the cabin. A favourite route leads to Befjell, the highest peak in the district, around 4 km each way. Himmelsyna, known for scenic trails and views, is about a 20-minute drive away. A quiet natural swimming spot is close to the cabin, while the sandy shore of Vågdalsfjorden is around 10 minutes away by car. The nearby Uldalsvassdraget water system offers trout fishing; a fishing licence is required. Keep an eye out for deer, owls, hares and black grouse. Joker Mykland, the nearest grocery store, is about 20 minutes away. Evje, with rafting, climbing and family activities, is around 40 minutes away. You can also visit a moose park near Viltgården or explore the coastal town of Arendal, around 55 minutes away. Here, nature and adventure are always within reach.
