Escape to a peaceful off-grid cabin in Risdal, Southern Norway, where mountain views, fresh air and complete tranquillity set the pace. Surrounded by forest and open wilderness, this cosy retreat is ideal for couples, families and small groups looking to disconnect and enjoy nature. The cabin sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms. Inside, you will find a welcoming living room with a wood-burning stove, a dining area and a practical kitchen with a gas stove and cooking essentials. Solar power provides lighting and phone charging. Wi-Fi and a TV are also available. Outside, relax in the spacious seating area, light the fire pan and enjoy panoramic mountain views. The cabin has an eco-friendly, odourless toilet, a sink and an outdoor shower. There is no running water. We provide 50 litres on arrival, and additional safe drinking water is available from a shared water point a two-minute drive away. A simple, authentic Norwegian cabin experience, with space to slow down.

The cabin is surrounded by unspoilt forests, rolling mountains and peaceful lakes in the heart of Southern Norway. Enjoy quiet mornings, wide-open views and evenings beneath the stars. Hiking trails begin nearby, with routes through woodland and open mountain terrain. For a rewarding longer hike, explore Befjell, the highest peak in the region, or visit scenic Himmelsyna. A secluded swimming spot is within walking distance, while the sandy beach at Vågdalsfjorden is about a 10-minute drive away. The nearby Uldal river system offers trout fishing with a fishing licence. Look out for birdlife, deer, owls, hares and signs of black grouse. Mykland has a grocery store and electric vehicle charging about 20 minutes away by car. Evje, with outdoor activities and family attractions, is around 40 minutes away. The coastal town of Arendal is about 55 minutes away. Whether you want to hike, swim or simply enjoy the silence, nature is always close.
