Nature house in Vorden

The front section of the farmhouse (Bronckhorst Heritage Award 2026) is located on a 7-hectare estate on the outskirts of Vorden. In recent years, it has been restored using bio-based materials and returned to its former charm; it is heated by underfloor heating, and for cold evenings, there is a cozy wood stove. There is a period-style kitchen with a real hand pump—though, of course, tap water is also available—a living room (formerly the large kitchen) with a massive fireplace (watch your head), a toilet, a bathroom with a shower and bathtub, and 3 bedrooms with box-spring beds featuring a luxurious Swiss Sense pocket-spring topper. Bedroom 1 Bed: 140 x 200 + chest of drawers Bedroom 2 (upstairs room without a banister) Bed: 160 x 200 + large built-in closet Bedroom 3 Bed: 180 x 210 + corner cabinet The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, an old-fashioned electric stove with 3 burners and an oven. There are also separate induction cooktops. There is a kettle, a Magimix coffee pod machine, a toaster, and kitchen and cooking utensils.

The farmyard is wonderfully dark at night. At dusk, you can see bats and hear little owls. Sometimes a barn owl makes an appearance as well. During the day, young buzzards call out to their parents, and garden birds sing in the trees and hedges. The farmyard is home to horses, cows, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats. It’s also a wonderful place for people to relax outdoors, with a patio, hammock, outdoor fireplace, swimming pool (in summer), and pizza oven. If you bring your horse, we can provide a stable and pasture access for a fee. This nature house is situated on a sandy path in the heart of the characteristic Achterhoek bocage landscape, marked by estates, castles, forests, meadows, and hedgerows. From the property, you can head straight out into nature to hike, bike (highly recommended: the 8-Castles Route), go trail/mountain biking, or horseback riding. Trails start right at your doorstep. The Pieterpad is also nearby. A swimming pool, tennis and padel courts, and the center of Vorden are 1 km away. The historic Hanseatic cities of Zutphen and Deventer are 10 and 30 minutes away by car, respectively.
