This nature house is therefore the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area on foot or by bike. Hof ter Borgt Castle Park is a 15-minute walk away. Leisure: Is the weather not quite as nice? On the mezzanine, you can relax in the chaise longue and enjoy a good book. Watch TV or play a board game. Or take the car and discover the towns of Westmeerbeek, Westerlo, Heist-op-den-Berg, or Aarschot, all within a 20-minute drive.

Hiking and Biking: The Goor-Asbroek nature reserve is part of the De Merode hiking network. From this nature house, you can set out on one of the three hiking trails offered by Natuurpunt. Want more information? The “de Mixx” recreation center is just 5 minutes away. This center is situated in the heart of the beautiful nature reserves of Asbroek, Langdonken, Elsschot, the Nete Valley, and the “Hertberg” provincial property. At this visitor center, you’ll find cultural activities, sports, recreation, and dining options. It’s the perfect base for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Culture: Discover Merode Castle, Tongerlo Abbey, the Zuiderkempen Regional Museum, the Beddermolen, the Hugo Voeten Sculpture Garden, the Hof ter Laken Castle Estate, Kamp C, and so much more.
