Nature house in Gourdon

Recently fully renovated and nestled in the tranquility and beautiful natural surroundings of the Lot! As you enter through the small courtyard, you’ll first find the modern kitchen (induction cooktop, combination oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher) with a coffee corner (Dolce Gusto machine and electric kettle) and a view of the terrace and the “butte” of Gourdon. There’s a large, cozy living and dining room with an internet router, television, and DVD player, as well as air conditioning/heat pump and a wood stove. Four large windows offer a view of a section of the GR64 hiking trail, which runs right past the house. With a little luck, you might sometimes see a deer or a fox wandering by. Badgers and owls are only out foraging at night. The bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, box-spring beds, insect screens, and shutters. The bathroom features a walk-in shower, a double sink, a second toilet, and additional heating. All the windows on the ground floor can be closed with electric roller shutters.

Complete privacy, yet less than a 10-minute walk from the center of Gourdon with its medieval, sloping streets and cozy restaurants. You can also stock up on groceries at the supermarkets just a few minutes’ drive away. Fresh local produce is highly prized. The Lot department is known for its tranquility and natural beauty. You can go for walks right from the house: straight through the fields and woods or along the trails. You’ll often come across a roe deer. And many different kinds of birds! A pair of hoopoes nests on our property almost every year. From the lesser spotted woodpecker to the black woodpecker, they can be seen and heard regularly. We’ll have a hiking guide with beautiful routes through the Lot ready for you. For cycling enthusiasts, there are bike routes, both on paved and unpaved roads. Or perhaps you’d prefer a canoe trip on the Dordogne? Swimming in the natural waters of the nearby lake? Spring is a time of joy for those lucky enough to see the abundance of orchids in bloom.
