Haute-Provence with a difference — tranquillity, woodland and light In autumn and winter, Haute-Provence reveals its most secret side. The light softens and silence returns to the paths. High above Simiane-la-Rotonde (04150 France), our holiday cottage for two is set against an old country house, in the heart of an estate surrounded by 40 hectares of private woodland. Here, guests come to spend a few days walking in the forest, exploring the villages of the Luberon and Haute-Provence away from the crowds, before returning in the late afternoon to a cosy, perfectly heated home. The 60 m² holiday cottage features a spacious living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom with a 160 cm bed, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, central heating and fibre-optic Wi-Fi. Separate entrance and parking. Reading, cooking, watching a film and watching the sun set over Simiane: simply enjoying the silence… A retreat for two, in a side of Provence that summer doesn’t reveal.
Nature and surroundings
In the photos, the gîte (second photo) is situated at the rear of my property (main photo). You therefore have complete privacy. From your private terrace, you can head straight into the forest: the paths are signposted for your convenience, and pets are, of course, welcome! All the photos online were taken on the property, from the country house, or in my woodland during walks. It can snow in January, though admittedly quite rarely. You’re 5 minutes from a grocery shop in Simiane, 10 minutes from the large village of Banon, and 30 minutes from the town of Apt. In Banon, the bookshop Le Bleuet is one of the largest privately-owned bookshops in France (120,000 books in stock!), open seven days a week, all year round. For cyclists, walkers and dreamers, the region is ideal. Autumn, winter and spring are wonderful seasons in Provence and Haute-Provence, yet they are also less well-known, free from the hustle and bustle and the sometimes stifling heat of summer…

Free cancellation within 7 days of your booking confirmation, provided the booking request was made more than 28 days before the start date. For bookings starting within 28 days, free cancellation applies within 24 hours. If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• Up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refund
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refund
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refund
• On the day of arrival or later: no refund
A deposit of €200.00 applies. You will be refunded after check-out.
