Nature house in Dranouter

Set on a small 1.7-hectare nature reserve right on the Flemish-French border stands our impressive Cirrus 40 teepee, measuring nearly 52 m², over 8 meters in diameter, and 6 meters high. We rent it out exclusively during the colder months, for those who consciously choose the outdoors, simplicity, and the warmth of a fire. At the center is a large fire pit: the warm heart of the tipi, perfect for building a fire, cooking together, chatting, or spending long evenings around the flames. Each overnight stay includes 20 kg of firewood; additional wood is available on site. The teepee is intentionally basic. It has electricity and lighting, a refrigerator, a simple kitchen, basic kitchenware, and wool blankets. You’ll need to bring your own complete sleeping gear: a sleeping pad or camp cot, a warm sleeping bag, a pillow, and whatever else you might need. This isn’t glamping, but a special place for reflection, bushcraft, hiking, spending time together, and living for a few days in tune with nature’s rhythm.

The grounds are also intentionally basic. You’ll use dry toilets and simple outdoor showers; in the information kiosk, you’ll find practical information and shared facilities. During wet periods, the meadows and trails can get quite soggy, and the teepee isn’t accessible by car. In that case, you’ll park at the edge of the grounds and carry your luggage to the teepee on foot. Boots, warm clothing, and a headlamp are highly recommended. In freezing weather, the outdoor running water may be temporarily shut off. Water and hot showers are available in the main building. During the colder months, it’s usually wonderfully peaceful here, though there may occasionally be other guests staying. From the grounds, you can easily hike into French Flanders for beautiful excursions. Optionally, you can reserve the wood-fired sauna (€55/2 hours) or hot tub (€100/4 hours); the hot tub is not available in freezing weather. For outdoor enthusiasts who are happy to trade luxury for a fire, space, silence, and adventure.
