This nature house is our own Tiny house in the backyard of our property in Kollumerzwaag. You’ll be staying close to us, but you’ll have your own peaceful, spacious, and private spot, right in the middle of the Frisian countryside. Inside, you’ll find a bright living and sleeping area on the loft, accessible via a steep staircase. (Please note: starting in January 2027, you’ll be able to sleep on the ground floor.) It features a luxurious double rain shower, and outside you’ll have your own terrace with a view of the countryside, where you can also enjoy the private hot tub. Sustainability is important to us. We generate our own electricity with solar panels, heat the space with a pellet stove, and do not use gas. We also make a conscious effort to conserve water and energy. A lovely spot for two people to get away from it all.
Nature and surroundings
From the property, you can head straight out onto several hiking trails. Hike through cornfields and meadows, along quiet country roads, and enjoy the Frisian countryside along the way. There are several beautiful trails in the immediate area, perfect for a nice outing. If you walk a little further, you’ll come to a beautiful trail that winds its way through the cornfields and across vast meadows. Along the way, there’s a bench offering a sweeping view of the countryside—a wonderful spot to watch the sun rise or set, read a book, or simply do nothing at all. The cottage is a great base from which to explore Northeast Friesland. In the surrounding area, you’ll find beautiful hiking and biking trails, nature reserves, charming Frisian villages, and the Wadden Sea just a short drive away. Whether you want to get out and about or simply unwind for the entire weekend, you’ll find plenty of space here.

We had a wonderful stay with these hospitable hosts! They were very helpful and even gave us some great tips for things to do in the area. The Tiny house is spacious enough for two people and comes with plenty of amenities. Beautiful views of the meadows—we even saw some deer! Highly recommended.
