Escape the hustle and bustle and find complete peace and quiet in our beautifully renovated historic home. This nature house is a unique vacation home nestled in the countryside, right in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wortel-Kolonie. From the house, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the large garden and the woods. Until 1965, this historic site was home to a village school with two houses on either side. The house on the right served as the teacher’s residence. Today, it is a stylish, ecologically renovated vacation home where authenticity and modern comfort go hand in hand. The living area features a cozy sitting area, a large dining table, and an open kitchen equipped with a stove, refrigerator, combination microwave/oven, and dishwasher. The vacation home has two spacious bedrooms (each accommodating four people) and two modern bathrooms.
Nature and surroundings
Around the Meestershuis, you can enjoy the sprawling garden—a place where you can truly hear the silence, right in the middle of the woods. Perfect for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking for space, tranquility, and nature. From the front door, you step right into the woods, tree-lined paths, and open landscapes of the Kolonie. Hikers can enjoy trails such as the former “Walk of the Year,” “Flirting with the Border.” Plus, the entire region is a true paradise for gravel bikers. We’d be happy to give you tips on special routes while you’re staying with us. Fancy a quick stop? Within walking distance, you’ll find a cozy café, De Landloper, and the Natuurpunt visitor center, De Klapekster, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink. Or savor authentic dishes nearby at the experiential restaurant Zouterover. Tourist Attractions There’s plenty to do in the area. Go for a walk with the alpacas at the Epic Alpaca Farm, wakeboard at the Goodlife Cable Park, or go climbing or swimming at De Mosten.

Free cancellation within 7 days of your booking confirmation, provided the booking request was made more than 28 days before the start date. For bookings starting within 28 days, free cancellation applies within 24 hours. If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• Up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refund
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refund
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refund
• On the day of arrival or later: no refund
A deposit of €150.00 applies. You will be refunded after check-out.
